Tri-Valley Conservancy has just awarded its first Sponsored Replanting Program Loan to Livermore, CA vineyard grower Scott Burkhart. With this low-interest loan, Scott is replanting 8 acres of vines on his family’s property, Thatcher Bay Vineyards. The new loan program is aimed at supporting local wine growers and revitalizing our wine region.

This position is an ideal way to support agricultural and environmental values, open space, and the viticultural heritage of the Tri-Valley.

New Conservation Easement Protecting Sensitive Wildlife Habitat is the Largest in Organization’s History 

On July 19, 2025, the Altamont Landfill Open Space Advisory Committee (ALOSC) approved a $25,000 grant for Tri-Valley Conservancy (TVC) to conduct a conservation values study of the 1,100-acre area east of Greenville Road in unincorporated Alameda County.

New land use policies will strengthen the economic viability of the Livermore Valley wine industry while permanently protecting agricultural land and open space.

 As Tri-Valley Conservancy (TVC) rings in 2025, the organization reflects on a year of significant achievements under the leadership of outgoing Board Chair Mark Triska and looks ahead to continued progress under the guidance of incoming Board Chair Scott Akin.  With these planned leadership transitions, TVC looks forward to another year of growth, community engagement, and conservation success.
