TVC Seeking New Members for Our Board of Directors!
Tri-Valley Conservancy is seeking mission-aligned individuals to serve on our Board of Directors.
About the Role: TVC operates as a governing board focused on strategic direction, fiduciary oversight, and organizational accountability. Board members serve four-year terms (maximum two consecutive) and commit approximately 5–10 hours per month, including board and committee meetings. Approximately 6 board meetings are held per year, both at our offices in Livermore and virtually. Members serve on at least two committees, make a personally meaningful annual financial contribution, and participate in at least one fundraising activity per year.
What We're Looking For: The TVC Board has identified the following priorities for this recruitment cycle:
Agriculture: Expertise across the agricultural landscape — including viticulture, ranching, and farming — and connections to the agricultural business community in the Tri-Valley.
Environmental Sector Expertise: Professional background in ecology, wildlife conservation, open space management, or water systems, with the ability to provide strategic guidance on conservation program expansion.
Financial Oversight: Nonprofit or public sector accounting experience, with comfort managing larger budgets and the ability to step into a Treasurer or CFO role.
Fundraising & Networking: Access to high-net-worth donor networks, experience with donor cultivation, and openness to connecting TVC with their network in partnership with staff and consultants.
Land Use & Planning: Professional experience with urban growth boundary management, county or city-level land use planning, and land conservation strategy.

We are a nationally accredited nonprofit land trust serving Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, and the broader Tri-Valley. Since 1994, we have permanently protected more than 6,100 acres of open space and agricultural lands — working to ensure the region's agricultural heritage and natural beauty endure for generations to come.
