Great Blue by Richard Finn I almost didn't see the 2 fluffy baby chicks in the nest of this Great Blue Heron as they blended in so well. The mom seemed to be on the look-out for predators. This was taken at Shadow Cliffs Regional Park.

Ladybug by Richard Finn I love how that bright little ladybug looks so determined, trekking across the jagged, rusty wire like it’s headed home after a long day of work. The soft purple flower in the background adds such a sweet touch, making the whole scene feel like a tiny, peaceful moment in the middle of a rugged field. He showed no fear, I imagine he is used to heavy foot traffic as the park is popular. I was certainly more nervous than he was, and backed off slowly.
