Protecting Our Agricultural Lands and Open Space
Tri-Valley Conservancy (TVC) is dedicated to protecting open spaces, preserving agriculture and vital habitats, and ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the beauty of the Tri-Valley region.
Since 1994, TVC has permanently protected more than 6,000 acres of open space and agricultural lands. With the support of our landowners, donors, volunteers, and partners, we continue to expand this impact, seeking new properties to protect under easements and strengthen the Tri-Valley’s greenbelt.
Who We Are
Conserving land, including vineyards, open space, sensitive habitats, and areas for recreation, is at the heart of our work.
TVC is a nonprofit, nationally accredited land trust serving the Tri-Valley region. Our mission is to promote economically sustainable vineyards and orchards and increase permanently protected, biologically diverse open spaces in the region.
We pursue this mission through holding conservation easements on lands, leading youth educational programs in nature, and conducting advocacy and outreach initiatives aimed at preserving the Tri-Valley’s agricultural heritage and natural beauty.
Our vision is a Tri-Valley where farmland, rangeland, parkland, and wildlife habitats are protected and enhanced for the benefit of current and future generations.

Our Impact
TVC protects lands and vineyards through conservation easements. A conservation easement is a legal agreement between a landowner and a land trust, like TVC, that permanently protects the land’s natural or agricultural value.
Landowners can still live on the land, farm it, sell it, or pass it down to future generations. The easement ensures the land will always be used in ways that align with its conservation purpose, no matter who owns it in the future.
